Success Tips to Get Results
***Warning…if you are the type that likes to be coddled or loves the sugar coat, you might not want to proceed***
So often we look for mind tips or tricks to help get us motivated. There MUST be a secret ritual the successful use, right?
WHAT can I do to stay motivated?
HOW do you stay on track?
I just WISH I was motivated like you.
I’ve heard it all and I’ve ASKED it all myself.
That’s right! I didn’t just wake up one morning dusted with motivational fairy dust.
I had to figure things out…learn…adapt…implement…and go.
So what did I learn, adapt, and implement that ultimately made me go? Well, I’m glad you asked. Ha! BUT, I’d rather only share this with you if you will commit to going ALL IN and applying it to your life. Some of these tips, you’ve heard before. You “know” them. BUT, to you, they either sound too elementary or “you’ve tried that before” (which will lead me to my first tip). Success leaves clues. Eat, breathe and live these tips. Your life will change in the best way possible.
My Success Tips
- Do or do not, there is no try.
- Turn of thy brain.
- Picture people in their underwear.
- Follow your heart.
- Suck it up.
1-Do or do not, there is no try.
Successful people don’t try. We don’t “give it a shot“. We never say, “Well, I did my best“, “better luck next time“, or “I tried“. We figure out what is it that we want? What are we striving for? And then what does it take to get there? Are we willing to do that? Are we still on board? If not, we don’t REALLY want it. If we ARE still on board, then we do what we gotta do to get there. We do WHAT IS REQUIRED. Period. No looking back. No sitting the bench. No changing our minds when it gets a little uncomfortable or even tough as nails.
If you want it, you do WHAT IS REQUIRED.
2-Turn of thy brain.
Until you train your brain to work FOR you vs AGAINST you, we’ve got to shut it down. It will try its darnedest to rationalize it’s way out of success. Most people’s brains send out alerts when we take risks, get out of our comfort zone, do something out of the ordinary, change our routine, make sacrifices, stretch ourselves…it’s like a small army of little toy soldiers our brain sends out to pull us back into mediocrity. Sirens are blaring and there’s utter chaos until we are back comfortably in our state of lazy land striving for nothing.
Turn it off.
Shut it down.
It’s working against you.
Over time, we will retrain our brain that discomfort is good..that challenge brings change..that the only way to get results is thru being put up to the fire and making it thru. But for now, shut it down. Recognize the crazy and ignore it.
3-Picture people in their underwear.
If I had a penny for every time someone traded their dreams for someone’s opinion about them, I’d be a richer woman 🙂 . People will doubt you, make fun of you, hate on you, be the “voice of reason”, negate your dream and DESTROY you, if you let them.
What would your life look like if you stopped caring what people thought of you….OR if you realized how little they WERE! Ouch! Far too often, we let people projecting their OWN fears and insecurities dampen our dreams and stop US dead in our tracks. Successful people simply realize THEY are responsible for THEIR path. Nobody else. And if need be, picture those people that you are allowing to take control of your future for whatever reason, in their underwear. Is THAT who you want leading the charge in your life?
4-Follow your heart.
Find your passion. Find something you can get behind, that gets you excited, that makes your ears perk up, that gets you up in the morning. I always dreamed of a job where I got paid to help people. I searched for THAT for years. I knew I had to have a job, so why not a fulfilling one? I worked for years dreading every time I had to go to work. I didn’t want to live that way forever. So, I took one of my own Success Tips (#1) and combined it with what I knew my heart longed for and BAMMMMM…my job became sooo much cooler, hence making my life so much better.
I’m sure you’ve heard it before from Confucius: “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
5-Suck it up.
Now some of you are already making a mental laundry list of WHY you can’t succeed or follow these success tips or whatever (which also means you need to go back to SUCCESS TIP #2). You have your reasons, your stumbling blocks, your obstacles, your circumstances, your “situations”, your excuses….WHATEVER you prefer to call them (because I know you have a name for them). You own these suckers like real estate. You love them, care for them and rock them to sleep at night. But, if you want to succeed it’s time to suck it up and put them to rest. Everyone has “situations” in and out of their control that COULD potentially stop them from getting where they want to go, BUT, there is someone worse off than you, doing more than you. GUARANTEE IT. So, suck it up. Refer back to SUCCESS TIP #1. What do you REALLY want? Are you willing to do WHAT’S REQUIRED? Or would you rather stay on a lifelong picnic with your excuses?
The choice is YOURS. That’s the biggest part. It’s on YOU. Nothing HAS to stop you. Embrace these five tips. Decide to SHOW up. Do it for a week. Then a month. Then a year. Then write me a note and tell me about it.
Your success is just waiting right outside of your door.
WILL YOU ANSWER IT?
