If You Want to Succeed…
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying by Eric Thomas that “If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.” I find this a bit extreme. I love it because I’m an all in, over the top, give me goosebumps, dramatic kind of girl, but I think the average person might find this overwhelming and intimidating. You can definitely still succeed without having to equate it to the very breathe you breath to live. Of course, you have an amazingly better chance though if your entire life depends on it. 🙂
For me, it all boils down to choices. What will you choose? And this pertains to all areas of life.
Your mood.
Your job.
Your workout results.
Your health.
Your relationships.
Your attitude.
Your nutrition.
Your temper.
I was watching the TV show, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition, the other night and one of the guys on there said something that really jumped out at me. He said, “I choose to do my workout every day.” It was a CHOICE! It was UP TO HIM! He didn’t wait for motivation. He didn’t wait to “feel” a certain way. He didn’t wait til his schedule allowed for it or til all of the vacations ended. He knew that if you want to succeed, you must choose. So he chose that day and the next day and the day after that.
Circumstances
If you wait for your circumstances to be in your favor, you will just be waiting.
What about your mood?
Road rage?
Temper?
Touchiness?
Irritability?
I’m guilty of this for sure. But once you realize it’s a choice..that you don’t HAVE to react that way, that you CAN stop it, take control, be kind under all circumstances. Wow, things will definitely change! If you want to succeed, you will get better at making these little choices sooner.
