Hey guys!
It’s Jessica, coming to you LIVE from my house that I am OFFICIALLY moving out of NEXT WEEK to move into my DREAM HOME, which I cannot believe! It’s crazy to think of just what’s been going on in my life lately, so I wanted to share a little bit of that with you!

So, I was running a training for a bunch of coaches, and I wanted to just kinda share the story with you because when I recalled it, I thought it was such a cool lesson that you could really apply in your life!

So I’m growing up at my house… I have two brothers and we used to play with Lincoln Logs. I don’t know if this is kind of aging me or not, but they’re just, you know, little logs with kind of notches in them so you could build a log cabin… kinda like old school Legos, I guess. And so one day my older brother, he really liked playing with them, and my dad would kinda come up and tease him, kinda say to him:

“Hey, you know, you can’t build… you can’t build.”

And he would just tell him over and over, “You can’t build” and my brother would just kinda look at my dad and seem super defeated. He would run to my mom and say:

“Mom, I can’t build! Dad said I can’t build! I can’t play anymore because I can’t build!”

And he would be SO upset, and you know, it could’ve just been because he BELIEVED his dad! So when his dad said that, it really ruined his day, not realizing that my dad was just one of those people who loves to kinda pick and you never really know when he’s being serious or when he’s joking. So there went the lincoln logs for my older brother!

Well, then my younger brother came around. They’re about seven years apart, and he’s playing with the same Lincoln Logs, so of course my dad went up to him, and he’d say:

“Hey, you can’t build, you can’t build…”

My little brother looks at him, and I’m fulllly expecting him to run to Mom. This is like, repeating Groundhog Day right here. INSTEAD though, my little brother looked at my dad and said:

“Yes I can!” and he kept playing!

You know, he didn’t think TWICE about it.
He didn’t run to Mom.
He didn’t start crying.
He didn’t get discouraged.
And it’s like… How often in our own life does someone tell us we can’t build?
You know, it could even be your own thinking! I don’t know about you, but there are MANY times that I start something, and I might be all excited about it at the beginning, then all of the sudden it gets tough, or you face struggles and you’re like, “Nevermind! I can’t do this!” You know? And you start to kind of back pedal… but what if you were my younger brother?

Which brother are you going to be in life?build confidence

Because people are going to come,
and people are going to doubt you,
and they’re going to try to talk you out of what you wanted to do
and odds are, you yourself, you’re going to change you’re own thinking,
change you’re own mind,
and kind of try to look the other way,
and come up with another plan,
instead of sticking with what you originally intended to do.
So whenever my dad comes your way… when you hear that voice that says
you can’t build…”
Which brother are you going to be?
What choice are you going to make?

Because it’s going to come down to that, and that could be in ANYTHING in your life!
You’re going to come down to that choice where you have to decide to STICK IT OUT!
You’ll have to decide if you can do it and you know what? YOU CAN BUILD!

So that’s my challenge today.

If you need help on your health or fitness journey or if you just need to build confidence yourself, shoot me a message! I would LOVE to remind you of what you’re capable of in life because it’s soo much more than you even realize! Shoot me a message, jessica@jessicabowsernelson.com, but this week I want you to be my little brother, and when life comes at you and says you can’t build, realize YES YOU CAN.

It’s never to late to build confidence in your own life.

Have a great day!
See you guys later!
