SPOTLIGHT ON: Emerald Coach Kirsten Wyatt
If I broke my back, how would I respond? What about you? Would you wallow in self pity and defeat? You would definitely have the right to. I loved hearing Kirsten’s story, because she dug deep into her spirit, and fought her way back! I would hope I would do the same! Be inspired! “I was never really overweight, but I was out of shape. I went to the gym occasionally, ran occasionally, and tried to eat somewhat healthy. Then in 2009 my life came to a stop when I was in a car accident and broke my back. I fractured 3 vertebras in my lower back and was very lucky to be alive. Since I broke my back, I was on bed rest for several months. Being on bed rest made me very weak. I felt like I had lost all the muscle tone I had and became frustrated and depressed. Then I went through a couple months of physical therapy which I felt frustrated me even more. I hurt all the time and hated how weak I was. I was so excited when I was cleared to go back to work but after working a short shift, I had to go home and lie down.
I broke my back but don’t count me out
6 months later, I got engaged. I decided I wanted to tone up and get stronger before my wedding day. I had become very self conscious about myself and decided it was time to do something about it. Then I saw an infomercial on Insanity and bought it. Once started it however, I thought, ‘Great I picked the hardest workout program ever!’ It was very difficult for me at first, but I was determined to stick with it. I started to see some results, got stronger and finished the program. Then I decided I wanted another program to keep me going. So I bought another program and then another. I loved the results I was getting! You would’ve never known I broke my back. Two years later I connected with an old friend of mine who was a beachbody coach and because I was doing so many of the beachbody programs, I decided to become a coach myself! I had been wanting to try the shakeology and thought the discounts would be nice even if I didn‘t make any money. But I thought the idea of making money while I was working out sounded great! I am so happy I made the decision to become a beachbody coach, and thank my husband for being so supportive (who is also a beachbody coach now!). I have lost 15 lbs, 4 inches off my body, went from a size 9, fitting tight, to a size 5, fitting a little loose! And not to mention the 6 pack and all the muscle I’ve gained!! And to think, I had broke my back! Being able to help others reach their goals and become more confident in themselves is the most rewarding job! I am doing what I love, and this job has really helped me stay accountable to being active and healthy!” Connect with Kirsten on facebook by clicking here.
