Hey guys! It’s Jessica. And it’s time for my Wednesday Rant and today I’m going to talk about something a little bit different. I’m not going to talk about your weight loss, the scale or even your own success in life. I’m going to talk about forgiveness because a lot of times there are things that hold us back from who we’re supposed to be or even getting the results we want to achieve and they’re not external, they’re INTERNAL.

Odds are some time in your life, you’ve probably been wronged. You’ve probably been rejected or crapped on. I heard these 2 phrases this past week that really stuck with me and made me think about what is forgiveness.

1. Forgiveness is letting go of the fact that it could’ve been ANY different. what is forgiveness

I thought: Wow.
How powerful is THAT?  What is forgiveness? A lot of times we think forgiveness is righting the wrong, or getting revenge or finding healing or whatever. But what if we just let go of the fact that it COULD’VE BEEN any different…
that it coulda,
woulda,
SHOULDA been different because odds are, it PROBABLY should have.

But, when you release that you kind of let down that wall in your life and you don’t hang onto it anymore. And as long as you’re hanging onto it..guess what..it’s not necessarily affecting the person that wronged you. It’s affecting YOU and it’s eating YOU alive and it’s going to hinder your own progress.

I watched a movie called Hurricane. It was about a prize fighter that ended up serving many, many years in jail but he was innocent. He said:

what is forgiveness2. “Hate put me in prison but love’s gonna bust me out.”

I thought about that statement figuratively.
Hate puts US in prison.
Unforgiveness puts US in prison.
We put ourselves in our OWN prison.
And the only way to get out is with love, is with forgiveness, TRUE forgiveness, letting it go, moving on. So hate MIGHT have put you in prison, but love CAN bust you out!

I encourage you no matter what your’e going thru or what you’ve been thru. I’ve been wronged. I HAVE BEEN WRONGED. I have been angry and bitter and resentful and it was eating me alive from the inside out. And I don’t want that to happen to you. I’m only sharing this from my own experience. It was LITERALLY destroying me and I had to let go of the fact that it could’ve been any different.

And the world IS different once I decided to adopt that belief and truly implant it in my heart and live it out.

I hope this helped someone today. I know this was off my regular topic but it was just so influential to me this week, I wanted to share it with you. Hate might have put you in prison, but love CAN BUST YOU OUT.
