Today my husband and I have officially started the Ultimate Reset again. We did it last year and had great results. I lost nine pounds, rid my belly of that annoying pooch (it was soo flat!) and woke up without an alarm or coffee feeling amazing. The best part of the whole experience, though, was that my husband, Brian, quit smoking! After six months, he started smoking again (he thought he could handle bumming one here and there…not so much) so when he was wanting to get healthy again, I was all about it! HECK YEAH! I do have very specific suggestions for those wanting to do the Ultimate Reset though. (To see those, click here.) I knew I didn’t meet all of my own qualifications, sooooo I decided to make some modifications this time! My intention is not to experience a true detox, but rather to support my husband. If you are needing/wanting a true detox from the Ultimate Reset, then I suggest you follow the directions specifically.
The Changes I’m Making to the Ultimate Reset This Time
1. I am currently in week 4 of Shaun T’s new workout Focus T25. You are not supposed to do any intensive exercising on the Reset, typically as it can reverse the detoxing effect as toxins are released in your body to build and repair muscles. I will still be working out this time.
2. I will still be drinking shakeology daily. Half of a vegan shakeology is an approved snack on the reset. I will be having a full shakeology every day. Let’s be honest..I just can’t live without it and I’m a lot happier and pleasant to be around when I drink it.
3. I am picking 3 of my favorite breakfasts, lunches and dinners each week and doubling up on them. This will save me prep time and money spent at the grocery store. This will also help me eliminate some of the meals that I just don’t care for and end up only picking at. I will also be incorporating some of the meals from the Focus T25 nutrition guide.
4. I will be having one cup of decaf herbal tea a day along with a shakeology cookie, so I don’t go crazy.
