Adventure Day Leads to Overcoming Fears at Olympic Parkovercoming fears

This past weekend was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

I was in Park City, Utah at a Mastermind training with other online marketers and we always have what’s come to be known as “Adventure Day”. It’s always a surprise until the day before- which I love!

Anticipation is one of my most favorite things ever. Seeing as we were in an amazingly beautiful area of the country, I just had a feeling it was going to be GOOD! At our last Mastermind in Destin, Florida, it was deep sea fishing (not super good..ha!). But, I was hopeful!

It was time for the big announcement of our Adventure Day destination and they played the video of the Jamaican bobsled team’s debut in the Olympics just like in the movie Cool Runnings. We were going to be racing down the actual Olympic bobsled track!!! Turns out the Olympic State Park where they held the 2002 Olympics was right around the corner. We were also going ziplining and doing a 60 foot free fall drop.

Gulp.

Would you be excited?
Or would your fears rush from your belly into your mouth?
I could tell from the faces in the crowd, some weren’t super thrilled.
But, all I could think of was what a great opportunity this would be for overcoming fears.

Overcoming Fears for Funovercoming fears

When was the last time you challenged yourself in life?
Challenge brings change.

So, I thought what a great way for overcoming fears we may have in life. Because fear can be debilitating.

Do you know how many people I know that struggle with flying? Imagine how many missed opportunities they have in life over not being able to get to them! And overcoming fears are best accomplished by facing them head on. Most times, the VERY thing we are afraid of isn’t actually a THING at all. We’ve just compounded it mentally into a thing.

Not anymore.
Not on my watch.
I want to LIVE.
I want to EXPERIENCE things.
I want to spread my WINGS (and yes, you have wings 🙂 ).

Where the Magic Happened

Robbie “Maddo” Maddison also known as the modern-day Evil Knievel, attempts a death defying aerial feat at the very place we were bobsledding at the Utah Olympic Park. He starts by actually driving up the Olympic Bobsled course that we would be going down. We also got to see the jump he goes down at the end. It was crazy! (side note: when I mention overcoming fears, this feat is NOT on the list! Ha!)

My Post Bobsled Thoughts

I got to say..just knowing we went down the same course as the Olympians was a pretty cool feeling.
