Is the Insanity Nutrition Plan Vital?
I’ve been there. Killed the workouts; skipped the Insanity Nutrition Plan.
Count me in for a crazy, killer, intense workout, but the Insanity nutrition plan? Really? I worked so hard, I could just focus on eating health right? WRONG! I started my first round of Insanity as a fairly clean eater. I can’t cook, but I can toast a great English muffin! Ha! So, the thought of following the Insanity nutrition plan was just out of the question.
I made it through the first month. I felt good. I was improving. My body was tightening up. The athlete in me was emerging, then something dreadful happened! MONTH 2! For those of you that have done Insanity, you know exactly what I’m talking about. The workouts are almost twice as long! Right when I thought I was getting the hang of it, it’s like I was starting all over again! I was crashing! I’m definitely not a quitter and I’ve pretty much always been able to do whatever I put my mind to. NOT THIS TIME!
The thought of the meal plan having anything to do with it had not even crossed my mind. At the time, I was waiting tables. Ever heard of dish pit? Dish pit is the area where you dump all the uneaten food and where the dishwasher is located. Needless to say, this area is gross and sludge-y. I knew something was wrong when the thought crossed my mind to go to sleep IN DISH PIT! It was most definitely time to reconsider the Insanity nutrition plan!
Why do we expect results when we don’t follow directions?
It must be human nature to ignore the very thing that would help us succeed in most scenarios: DIRECTIONS! Odds are, the creators of Insanity put time and thought into the Insanity nutrition plan to maximize your results with the program. We all want the results, but I bet very few follow the nutrition plan exactly. If you purchased this program, you were tough enough to take on the challenge, so why skip the most vital part? THE INSANITY NUTRITION PLAN!
I had my reasons for skipping the Insanity nutrition plan, like we all do…no time, can’t cook, don’t care for some of the recipes, expensive. But, all of my excuses caught up to me in that second month. I did it. I got the book out. I even broke down and bought Shakeology. At that time, all I knew about shakeology was that it was in the Insanity nutrition plan, it was expensive and I could drink the whole bag and get my money back! Seeing as how I was and still am a horrible cook, I knew this would help me get on track faster and get me the nutrition I needed quicker..at least I was hoping.
Results are in!
The Shaun T Insanity Nutrition Plan is great because it, not only, helps you focus on the clean foods you should be eating, but how many calories, as well. You can’t skimp during this program! So many people focus on cutting calories, thinking that is how you will get the best results, but with Insanity, you are burning so much you need to consume MORE CALORIES to refuel for the next day. The Insanity nutrition plan provides that guidance!
I haven’t stopped drinking my shakeology or doing the programs since. I continued on to the Asylum workout (the sequel to Insanity) and then to Asylum 2, my absolute favorite workout to date. And, drumroll….by learning how vital the Insanity nutrition plan was and continuing to follow every nutrition plan since, I HAVE ABS FINALLY! So, skip the Insanity nutrition plan if you like, but if you want results, like I did, then keep it near and dear for the next 60 days and so forth!
