How to Be SuccessfulHow to be successful

I’m thinking deep today. Ok, ok. I’m a female. I think deep all the time, much to my husband’s dismay. I consider it a positive attribute. I’m a solution finder. I’m calculating my plan to take over the world in a superhero kind of way. That takes thought, people! While I have been successful in a lot of areas in my life, the thing I ponder most is finding the most effective way to teach others how to be successful; how to be successful in life, how to be successful in their relationships, how to be successful in their workouts, how to be successful in their business, you name it.

Worst Sentence I Ever Read

I read a lot. Most successful people do and I am all about emulating the successful. During my studies on how to be successful, I came across a horrible discovery in the book The 4 Hour Work Week. “99% of people in the world are convinced they are incapable of achieving great things, so they aim for mediocre.”

Let’s repeat that in slow motion: “9 9 %   o f   p e o p l e   i n   t h e   w o r l d    a r e

c o n v i n c e d  t h e y   a r e   i n c a p a b l e   o f   a c h i e v i n g    g r e a t   t h i n g s ,

s o   t h e y   a i m   f o r   m e d i o c r e . “

What a HORRIBLE reality? Forget HOW to be successful, most don’t even consider it an option? How did this happen? When did this happen? When did settling become the mainstream? When did achieving anything become a characteristic of the exceptional only??? 99% of people are going to miss out on life? I want to make one thing abundantly clear right here, right now. YOU are destined for greatness! YOU are capable! Forget ordinary. What if your reality could be extraordinary? Dare to dream it! It IS possible!

Step by Step Guide on How to Be Successful

How to be successful

I know some of you were hanging on for dear life hoping to find a step by step guide on how to be successful, but it just isn’t that cut and dry. The key to success, in my opinion, is first and foremost, deciding. You have to decide right now that you are willing to do whatever it takes to get there. This can be related to success in anything..in life, in your workouts, in your relationships, in your job, etc. Decide now that you are not going to stop until you are successful and commit to it. And I mean truly commit. When you fail, you will try again. When you get knocked down, laughed at, made fun of, hurt, injured, offended, ticked off, tired, worn out, worn down, distracted, uncomfortable, unmotivated, when the odds are stacked against you, you have to reach deep down in your gut and KEEP GOING. Can you do that? Is your life worth that? Is success in your life, relationships, job, workouts worth that? I guarantee it will be!

Life Secrets of Successful People

Success equals failure. Yes! Want to know how to be successful? Fail. I remind myself of these people’s situations often. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. Gets me every time. Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper for lacking imagination and having no original ideas. Oprah Winfrey was demoted from her job as a news anchor because she “wasn’t fit for TV”. The Beatles were rejected by a recording studio who said, “We don’t like their sound. They have no future in show business.” WHAT? Why are these stories so great? Becausehow to be successful we know the outcome. We KNOW their journey. We know their path didn’t stop there. We know the triumphant victory that came after these setbacks.

BUT, what if you looked at your own life–your own struggles and failures and defeats and setbacks–the same way! See the end victory! See that you decided and committed and were determined to learn how to be successful and the setback is actually just a stepping stone to victory. When I tell you MJ got cut from the team, doesn’t it almost create an excited emotion in you? It is because you know the champ he went on to be. What if you had the same belief in yourself? Want to know how to be successful? Just do it. Don’t stop. Keep your eye on the prize. My tips to becoming successful:

  • Decide.
  • Commit.
  • Consistently work towards it every single day and
  • you WILL succeed!
