Hey guys, it’s Jessica and I’m here in my kitchen,
because today my Wednesday Rant is gonna be about FOOD!
Soooo many of you are skipping the vital part (aka a healthy meal plan) to getting results in your life and you’re just not taking ownership of your nutrition.

So I have good news for you!
You don’t have to be 100% perfect ALL THE TIME.
I live by the 80/20 rule… or maybe the 85/15 rule, which is gonna be eating healthy 80-85% of the time and having treats 15-20% of the time. I’m not saying you have to give up something 100% because I know what happens when you do that. You end up not eating it and then one day you fall off the wagon and that’s ALL YOU EAT. So that is not at all what I’m suggesting. For me, that’s not a sustainable way to live. I also travel a lot so I’m not always in control of everything I eat and I just don’t want to be one of those people that brings food with me everywhere I go.

healthy meal planFood is fuel. It’s supposed to energize you.

So the deal is though, you can’t go 50/50 or some of you are more like 80/20 in the opposite direction (ha!), only eating healthy 20% of the time. So I want you to realize, if you’re groggy, if you’re tired, if you’re bloated, if you’re not getting the results you want, if the scale isn’t moving, you need to evaluate what you’re eating.

Now, as far as treat meals, choose wisely. I don’t eat things that are bad for me that I don’t absolutely love. This helps keeps me on track because when I do eat something that would go against my results. It’s okay because it’s amaaaaazing and I love it and I clean my plate and I have no regrets. But for example, I just don’t care for potato chips. I don’t hate them, but I don’t love them. So guess what? I don’t eat potato chips! Same thing… cokes, sodas, whatever you want to call it. You will never catch me drinking a coke or a soda. Not because I’m strict, I mean I know it’s horrible for me, but it’s just not on my list of amazing things I enjoy. So instead, I’m going to save those splurges and those calories for the things that I really love so then it is satisfying when I have it, and the next morning I’m not wanting something else!

So keep that in mind when you’re treating yourself,
and when you have a healthy meal plan, it’s really easy.
You want to go for things NOT in a box.
You want to go for things that are natural; that have color.
A lot of our plates are all brown. If your plate is brown, that’s a problem, and you’re probably going to go into a food coma when you finish. You know what I mean? When you go eat a meal and you immediately need to lay down or unbutton your pants?
That’s NOT normal! Food is fuel.
It’s supposed to energize you, so if you’re not feeling energized and feeling well, I guarantee you can trace it back to the kitchen.

Take care of your body & it will take care of you.healthy meal plan

For a healthy meal plan, focus on finding foods that are grilled, or blackened and like I said, full of color that will keep your body running the way it is designed to run.

We weren’t supposed to be groggy,
and tired,
and bloated.
So evaluate what you’re eating.
Take ownership.
Be honest with yourself and treat your body right.
I guarantee you will be more productive,
you’ll be happier,
and you will make a difference in so many areas
that you don’t even realize are related to your nutrition.
Literally yesterday, I was traveling. I didn’t eat enough food and I was in a horrible mood. I was rude and I realized I just needed to eat. I needed to take care of my body.
Take care of your body and it will take care of you.

P.S. If you need help, I can hook you up with a plan that will teach you what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, that will get you realizing what your body truly needs. Shoot me a message, jessica@jessicabowsernelson.com, and I can help you get started on your journey! See you guys later.

I have been 100% for last 50 days. No sweets, no treat meals at all. Don’t know how long that will last. I just want to get down in the two’s before I start doing anything like 80/20
