Are You Working Hard or Hardly Working?hard work

Yes, it’s a 4 letter word. Makes sense right, since most of us avoid it like the plague? Ha! I’m talking about work. W-O-R-K. Hard work. You know the saying, “Work smarter, not harder”? I totally disagree. To be successful, you must work smarter AND harder. Why not? Life has a tendency to leave clues. And if you delve into the life or routine of successful people, you will most definitely find years of hard work in there. This past weekend I was at a convention where Bo Eason, ex NFL player and largely successful actor/producer and all around amazing guy, shared the following on how we as humans use our brain. It was so astounding!

Amount of Brain Usage

Average Person                           7%

High Achiever                           20%

Olympic Gold Medalist          40%

WOW! Crazy right? See what hard work, dedication, commitment and just putting in the time can do for you? What an under utilized life you will lead if you settle for average. Mediocrity should be our enemy…our opponent! Is it yours? Or is it your B.F.F.? People succeed not because they are lucky or it was handed to them or they were in the right place at the right time. No. They succeed because they aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. They aren’t afraid of the forbidden, the crazy, the ludicrous: Hard Work.

Are You a Hard Worker?

Do you just do the minimum or do you go above and beyond? Do you enjoy “just getting by” or do you crave a challenge? When the hard work comes do you pretend to be too busy or put your gloves on? Do you avoid your own dreams because you know what it takes to get there? Or do you adamantly chase after them because you know your life depends on it and a little hard work is just a requirement of the journey?

You can do THIS!
