SPOTLIGHT ON: Emerald Coach Cody Jones
Does P90X work? I get asked this a lot. It only works if you DO IT. Find out how Cody’s serious injury ended up being one of the GREATEST things that could’ve happened!
Does P90X Work? Finding out wasn’t part of the plan!
“I’m a 33 year old happily married father of two. I purchased Power 90 back when it first came out but never really stuck to it. I’d watched the infomercials for P90X, but I never thought it was for me. On July 23, 2010 I took my kids to play at the park and that’s when my life changed forever!
I fell while rollerblading and landed on my left wrist. I could tell looking down that it was a bad break. When I arrived at the hospital, the surgeon said that I shattered my wrist and that I would be lucky to regain full mobility. He said that he hadn’t seen a break as bad as mine for quite some time and that I would need lots of therapy. After hours of surgery, I woke to find a bar sticking out of my arm holding everything together. I spent two months with that bar and another two months in a brace. During this time, I wasn’t able to exercise and the doctor was worried I would never have full mobility of my arm. I needed something to try and fix my situation and knew I had to do whatever it took or the livelihood of my family would suffer. It was excruciating to apply pressure on my wrist and I was not able to move it like a normal diesel technician. I was concerned this accident would adversely affect my ability to provide for my family.
After the brace came off, I discovered I’d lost half the muscle mass in my arm and I’d gained 20+ lbs. I’d never been in the greatest shape anyway, but now I was at an all-time low. I decided that I needed to do something. On March 5th, 2011 I went to my relatives’ house and found them doing P90X and they were having fun doing it. I figured if they could all do it, then so could I. Does P90X work? I wasn’t sure, but I was willing to try. They offered to lend me the discs, so figuring I had nothing to lose, I accepted the offer. One week into the program, I was hooked. I noticed a change in just ONE week. I felt better, had more energy, and my knees didn’t hurt nearly as bad. The first 30 days of the program were the toughest, but I’m glad I stuck with it. I started P90X and modified the routines and worked thru the pain. I completed 3 rounds of P90X (no longer needing to modify the workouts) and lost 50 lbs. I can do more push-ups and pull ups than I’ve ever been able to do. I now weigh less than I did in high school and am in the best shape of my life. Does P90X work? YES!
I am happy to say that my accident has not impacted my job performance like the doctor had suggested and I never did a day of “therapy”. P90X is the greatest program and has given me back that “something” I lacked. I look forward to my daily workouts and love the way I feel. P90X results are worth it! So does P90X work, really? If you commit to it, then it does! We now own nearly every program Beachbody has to offer and I am constantly pressing myself to new fitness heights. Some of the things I can now do still astound me. I have completed 2 Spartan races (a Beast, and a Military Sprint) as well as countless 5K’s and other fun runs. It’s so nice to just be 5K ready at the drop of a hat!
The Results are In!
It’s now, July 2013 and through a change in diet, mindset, and a steady rigorous workout routine, I have lost over 65 pounds. I went from a size 38 in pants to a 28 and from 25% body fat to 10%! I now enjoy going out with friends, meeting new people, and now I’m able to not only keep up with my kids but out run them! Beachbody has changed my life! I have completed 3 rounds of P90X, a round of P90X2, 2 rounds of Insanity, both Asylums, 2 rounds of Body Beast, Tai Cheng and the Ultimate Reset. My 9 year old daughter and I started Focus T25 on July 1 with my challenge group and together we continue to become better, stronger, (and most of all) HEALTHIER.
I’m thankful I’ve found this life altering company and I’m enthusiastic to share it with everyone I meet. I’m a strong believer in “you get what you put in”, meaning if you don’t dedicate and motivate yourself then you will not see change. If you’re unhappy with your appearance and how you feel, then do something about it. Why wait another day? I grew up in a house where food was comfort and we lived for food, which made this journey even harder, but I’m proud to say I now eat to live instead of living to eat! Thank you Beachbody for changing my life!”
