Morning, Afternoon or Night?best time to exercise

When is the best time to exercise? I get asked this often. Should I workout in the morning? On my lunch break? When I get home at night? Which will burn more calories? Cause me to lose weight faster? Be the most effective?

Here’s the thing. If you google this question, you will find scientific recommendations pointing to different studies. Some show that people that work out in the mornings have better results, since they don’t destroy their sleep patterns and their testosterone levels are high. The next article will tell you that the best time to exercise is in the afternoon since your body temperature is at its highest. Needless to say, I can totally understand why someone might get confused! Ha! My advice as to the best time to exercise is a little different.

Drumroll Please: The Best Time to Exercise is……

best time to exercise

WHENEVER YOU ARE GOING TO ACTUALLY WORK OUT! Yep. In my opinion, there isn’t a right or wrong time that fits for everyone. There isn’t just one answer. The key is to look at your life and your schedule and see what works best for you. If you can swing it, I always recommend working out in the morning. Why? Because I know we live in a busy, crazy world. I know if you wait til after work, what happens? Emergencies, distractions, accidents, kids, chores, tired, obligations, tired, busy-ness, date night, holiday, tired. Skip workout. Skip another. So far behind now. Never mind. Forget it all together. I know how it goes.

In this case, make yourself work out in the morning. This way you will not skip. You will also be less likely to have a bad day as you started your day out RIGHT! Not a morning person? Get a pre workout supplement. I drink E & E fifteen minutes beforehand. Then, kill it. Give it all you’ve got. Try it for two weeks straight and if it hasn’t improved your life, I will be shocked. If you just cannot swing am workouts, then the best time to exercise is when you can!!! Whatever time you have available every day (I recommend keeping it atbest time to exercise the same time daily), make that your workout time and nothing else. Schedule it. Do you brush your teeth every day? If not, you definitely should (perhaps even more than once:) ). Treat your workouts with the same importance because they ARE just as important!

The moral of the story is..the best time to exercise is when you WILL actually exercise! If you have options, then I would recommend you work out during the time of day that you have the most energy. And when you don’t want to exercise, do it ANYWAYS!
